Nada mais injusto, porquanto aquela gravação já denunciava uma voz cansada, um triste arremedo da que brilhou, fez e aconteceu em épocas pretéritas. A alcunha "The Voice"serve à perfeição ao Sinatra das décadas de 50 e 60 , e tal pensamento se robustece à cada audição , em compact disc, do que ele gravou naquele período. É o caso dos cds "Point of no Return", "Frank Sinatra sings the select Cole Porter"e o duplo "Sinatra 80th- All the Best", que descortinam um Francis Albert arrasador, de voz inconfundível, interpretação precisa e dicção perfeita. Quando se ouve, por exemplo, Bing Crosby, pode-se, por um momento, pensar que o cantor é Perry Como, ou até Dean Martin. Com os velhos olhos azuis, no entanto, semelhante dúvida não prospera; em "All the way", de 1957, como no restante do seu repertório , "A Voz" é tão bela quanto personalíssima.
